There's a couple of cool things at the local Pawnshop I like-well, there pretty much ALWAYS is stuff there I want...
Old Electro Harmonix ring modulator ($80 but was sold by the time I had any money)There's a much fancier ring modulator there-a Moog-but it's like $300...
Sovtek 2x12 vertical cab, slant front. 'Matches' my Sovtek 4x10, don't really need it...bu i DO like 2x12 cabs...(priced a little steep at $170)
Gibson gothic SG, for use as Ramifications backup guitar (a very reasonable $500)unfortunately, this guitar is UGLY, flat black, black hardware, and somebody's name scratched into the body (which could easily be covered by a pickguard-this model has no pickguard on it). But, it is mechanically solid and sounds great...
Ben put his SG on the stand the other day...and it fell off, re-fracturing an old headstock repair. He's been using one of my Flying V's it's a suitable replacement...but...kinda fragile, if you know what i mean..."Hey, let me borrow your guitar, I just broke mine"
I found a cool old 1970's no-name (i think it's a Yamaha judging by the headstock) black Les Paul copy for $80, it belongs to a buddy of mine. It plays well but has electrical problems. Plus it's as heavy as a 'real' 70's Les Paul...
The next stuff I really need though:
* better bass amp cab (with wheels!)
* new woofers for Yamaha NS-10's
* and we do need a backup guitar, so the budget Les Paul is likely the next purchase.
Can't afford the $500 SG right now, maybe in another month if it's still there.
