He certainly gets alot of mileage from that Bigsby. And he's energized to say the least. But I have a higher regard of his songwriting than his guitar playing ;)

Yeah. I've been playing Ohio on the acoustic from time to time. Just a few chords but a really cool song.
And ofcourse, incredibly powerful lyrical imagery.

I prefer Neil's music overall to Vai's. Always have-and I was an early Steve vai proponent, from hearing him on Zappa records.
Sure, technically Vai is a better player. But he can't write songs, and he can't get that kind of emotion out on one strangled note like Neil.
