Well you know SB, my metal band that I spent six months working on, went belly-up back around April.
I was figuring that these two guys (both in their early 30's, married with children)wouldn't work out because of their family matters. But that's not what made it fall apart.
Turns out, they were using me to make their old guitar player jealous, so he'd come back and be in their band. Once we got the demo recorded...he decided to re-join and i was out. Since then, they've done nothing, and last time I checked, their myspace page hadn't even been opened since April, when this all went down.
Needless to say, I was extremely disapointed, because i was looking forward to playing some heavy guitar. Plus, I had a guy who was interested in putting out a record for us...but he won't do it unless I have a band that can travel. So that project fell flat.
So that put me off, and I started trying to get the soukous/reggae thing back up and running. Several months later, that has stalled due to grown-up stuff. Everyone is roughly the same age, too busy to really be in a band. But this group's drummer and I have landed on our feet doing gigs with singer Natalie Zoe. And those are paying gigs. Whoopee!
The Ramifications thing fell into my lap, and both those guys ages added up are almost as old as me! People think I'm their dad! But them young kids are crazy enough to jump in the van and get going. So here we go.
