   I gravitate towards big, bassy, overdriven guitar music, and I like rocky, twangy, sassy kinda stuff.

   Beyond that I don't really care about genre, I tend to have favourite artists and songs but no particular genre taste.

   Here's some of the other stuff I like:

   George Clinton, Otis Redding, Joni Mitchell, Bobby McFerrin, The Eurythmics, The Cure, Dave Brubeck, Glenn Miller.

   Make of it what you will.

   But really, I like any genre. It's that undefined factor in music that I seek. 80s power ballads, for example, are not a genre I'd say I loved. However, I love some power ballads :D

   I love good music, but generally tend to gravitate towards bassy overdriven stuff that has some kind of darkness to it. Also I seem to enjoy falsetto singers.. Not so good at describing genre's, but some of my all time favorite stuff would be things like NIN, Muse, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, white stripes, the veils, wolf parade, clap your hands say yeah, velvet underground, band of horses, the stills, and yes, nirvana..

   Then again I like tons and tons of other stuff, this is just what I tend to put on the stereo when I want a known and comfortable fix ;-)

   although I think the new clap your hands say yeah album feels rushed and has a good dose of the "2nd album, first label album" feel... although I've only given it 2-3 listens..

   There's too many genres to mention, I like a lot of stuff.

   What I don't like is easier-modern top forty pop that sounds like it was designed by a computer program and then a cute chick vocalist was picked from a barrel and pasted on top. Most modern 'popular' music just annoys me any more.
