Well...she's gone during the day! But still, she lets me make my racket some around here.

But to get down to serious business, I can't feel like I'm bothering anybody, gotta be able to concentrate.

So, in two intense days (five hours per day) we worked out five new songs to add to the set. Having Ben record the stuff alone and make cassettes for us is the way to work with this band it seems. Our goal with the weekly gig is..one new song per week! That, and not getting fired. And maybe getting paid...

But it's nice to know I can get away with some music drifting out of here...the studio will be coming home in about two months, when ben has to move out of his apartment.

Well we set up in the living room at the new house yesterday to run through a whole bunch of new material for next week.

I've been observing the comings-and-goings of the neighbors and decided that right smack in the middle of the day, nobody is around here...so we set up and practiced from around noon 'til about 5 PM.

Got the basics of four out of five new tunes, we'll work on them more today and hopefully the fifth one as well. We just REALLY need material to fill out two sets starting this Monday night. Fortunately, Ben is a songwriting machine and presented us with cassettes (remember those?) of five new tunes...more on the way.

The one really good thing about a weekly gig is, in a few month's time, we'll have a couple of album's worth of songs, all worked out and stage-tested. Hopefully we'll have a regular enough weekly crowd to keep the spot for a while.

Soooo...the living room sounds real good! High ceiling makes for a pleasant sound without painful sound pressure levels..and nobody complained. We might start doing a weekly practice here during the day to learn new stuff, and then use our Monday nights for 'full volume' practice...plus those pesky weekend gigs...
