It's actually quite true that Icelanders hibernate during winter, in as much that we stop hanging out outside and retreat indoors to watch videos and such.

My problem has been that music has sort of gone out, and life taken over.

I have a girlfriend now, and we're raising her son. We have a little flat and I only have one guitar here (the new nylon string one).

Somehow the time just isn't there.

I hope I can get more music into my life soon. I need it, really.

I reckon these Icelandic types hibernate pretty much continuously from October til April, that's why we haven't seen them around much.

BT and all the other damyankees are all too busy dodging the draft, or drilling for oil, and the Brits are too depressed to talk.

"So where do you fit in?" I hear you ask......

I'm just a figment of your imagination.........which explains why you're so bad at creative writing.......

Alright... Sounds like a Mojo Marshall Head Bro! Should supply ample inspiration for a performance of the Star Spangled Banana on New Years Eve perhaps..... Definitely the type of amp that's guaranteed to Pee-Off the neighbors... Good choice!
I've been noodling a lot with my little 10 Watt Peavy lately... It's totally dry... No reverb... just 2 channels... One's clean and the other is "Saturated" Hehehehehhehh... Still think the clean channel sounds better overdriven than the saturated though.... It's FUN! I LOVE the sound you get out of small little amps when you push em..... I also open up my Little Pignose 7-100 amp... Turn it up ALL the way and have a good time. I LOVE that little piggie... It's an OLD one... Absolutely Mojo amp... Super COOL tone ;)

So I picked up my 'new' amp a couple weeks ago, it's a 1975 Marshall 50 watt top. Been rebuilt into a handwired plexi circuit w/EL 34s, no master volume. Man, this is a good sounding amp. Fat-warm-rich-all-that-stuff-kinda TONE!

No pics, maybe one day.

It's nice here today, cool but not cold. But we had a freakin' cold weekend. Winters here are usually pretty mild, with a couple of freezing cold snaps and usually one hard freeze that stops the city in it's tracks. Things warm up by the middle of March....

I almost sorta miss Los Angeles-where "winter" consists of one week's worth of rain! Just enough to wash all the filth off the streets, and clean the air for a few days. THAT'S when they take all the pics for postcards, you know...those three days when the sky is actually blue.

Well, that's totally aggravating. It took me several tries to join 'Trig' and once there, i can't navigate the damn thing. I made it as far as posting a message to HT saying "I give up". I've joined about a dozen different groups/clubs/forums/etc just to keep tabs on the boy, but it's just to aggravating to have to re-learn a whole 'nother set of controls ...HT, (and anyone else)-my e-mail is:

breakfastime@hotmail.com

1st: I'm truly sorry to hear about your strat neck.
Try to fall on something that would upset me less next time.......like a kitten, or a baby.

2nd: Funny thing bout axes, but I guess it makes sense when you think about it. After all most players tend to gravitate towards certain guitars when playing certain styles, teles for country, semis for jazz, superstrats for metal, etc.
I'm generalising but you know what I mean.

Your post brings into relief one of the things I like most about you BT, you have an ability to view yourself objectively, almost as though you're viewing yourself from the outside.
Kudos. :-)

The other day while stumbling around the studio (in the dark, trying to install a light bulb..)I tripped and fell over backwards-right onto my #1 Strat...and yep, I split the neck. Starting right at the 'skunk stripe' and running along the grain maybe three inches, a hairline fracture that pretty much renders the guitar useless.

So I've been using a different strat, my Yngwie style, scalloped fretboard thing, and it's a pretty good backup axe. Problem is, I've found that since the wang bar works so good on this thing, that I'm abusing the damn whammy a bit much...and since the guitar plays 'like butter'...I've been shredding more than usual. The guitar has really affected my style just because it lends itself to such a style. Weird.
