Hey guys -- long time no post!

We are still alive... Henrý is very busy, he's a dad now, if you guys didn't know ;-)

Varði just finished his masters in music composition from Brooklyn College, and is planning his next steps, etc, I'm sorry but I can't give a proper account of what's going on with the other guys -- just myself:

I'm living mixed between Iceland and The Netherlands and Germany right now, and trying to get myself a damned university degree before I become an old bastard, for me at least, music is a passion not a living -- and I guess that's the way for most of us. Sometimes our passions are forced aside by our living :-(

I doubt anyone comes here anymore, but just in case... well, hibernation is happening/something...

ok steinn i'll do it. i'll pull a TR. i think we're ready to make another album. i'll let you take care of the mixing, i'll send you the projects. I've also been thinking about doing a project here on the community. It is well possible to make Death & Resurrection available as Live Projects for remixing. That way we could make a remix album, with all the members contributing.

San Antonio last weekend was pretty god, played in a little dive called "JIggers" which I'd never heard of. SA is kinda weird-it's a HUGE city with a tiny underground rock scene. very Metal oriented, SA probably has the highest rate of displaced metal guitarists doing time in bands playing other styles. So we played with a roots rock band that featured a metal guitarist! Great! Nothing like some old-time rock and roll complete with Van Halen style shred solos!

But another really cool band we played with was Austin's SEDIUM-these guys are really cool, kinda hard to classify:
http://www.myspace.com/sedium

Yes, the rams are still going...playing San Antonio tonight, played here in town at some 'hot' club, good crowd, funny kind of scene...

We ain't been fired from our Monday night thing, and the rest of the week is always pretty full. Next week we have another three gigs-Monday, Wed (at another one of them 'hot' new bars) and Sat at another KAOS radio thing.

So that's been going along.

Soukous band is still working every week, as the weeks go by we've been recording ourselves with just the one mic, I'm fixin' to start doing our first multi track stuff maybe starting this Sunday...

...and Bark Hard has a gig in Florida in May '08. Some punk festival. So I better start practicing the drums.

Well, I finally got out of the dreadful guitar gig with singer/songwriter Natalie Zoe.

She fired me (and very angrily, too) for opting out of a free happy hour gig and instead driving to Houston to rehearse with my old punk band Bark Hard for a big show w/Angry Samoans.

So then I got to Houston, and found out that BH drummer Scott had 'injured' himself and wasn't able to do the gig. So, we rented a drumset and started rehearsing -with me on drums.

I hadn't played a drumset in 7 years, at least not for more than two minutes, and just goofing around at that.

So we worked for about 6 hours, i got my chops back into decent shape, and we did the gig. It went real well, only...now I'm the drummer in Bark Hard-yep, I got fired from my guitar spot in that band.

Fired twice in one day!

Well, we ain't been fired yet! Things slowed down there for a couple of weeks, starting to pick up again. This week we had a good crowd of walk-ins, Lyle Lovett played across the street and his show ended around 11...right as we got started.
It was a pretty wild night...celebrities and everything!

Plus, we picked up a short notice spot at a new club (for us anyhow) and played there last night.

And then we play again at another new (for us) place south of town on Thursday night...whew!

So my evil plan of having a regular weekly gig is starting to pay off...people are walking in off the street, bands are inviting us onto their bills, people are giving us contacts, and we have a standing offer from a pretty well known guy to produce a demo for us.

Strangely, as this thing (Ramifications) starts to grow legs...some of my other gigs aren't fairing so well...but that's another story/thread.

Dammit Steelbones-I thought YOU were the lead guitarist!

My buddy Jack L'amant ran into Robert Plant once in an airport bar, and offered Robert a copy of the L'amant CD. Robert accepted, perused the titles on the back, (the album consisted of all covers of classic/obscure R&B tunes)and started getting excited-"Oh-I LOVE this song!" and started SINGING the songs to Jack right there!

They had a little 'jam session' in the airport bar, both singing obscure R&B and blues tunes together!

...maybe Jack could get this gig?

Led Zeppelin Searches For Unsigned Bands Via Ziddio.

Apparently, Zeppelin wants unsigned bands for their reunion's afterparty, prospective bands need to post vids explaining why they should get a chance on ziddio.com explaining why they should be allowed to play, and those who'll be picked will get a chance to play one Zeppelin cover and one original track for the crowd.

I think both The Ramifications and Tyrefyre should try out. ;-)
